This is sad news. Lung cancer is a deadly disease, and people need to be able to get the best treatment available. There are a number of clinical studies on lung cancer which are working to improve available treatment for lung cancer patients.

Cancer is a disease, a chronic metabolic disease akin to other chronic metabolic diseases such as scurvy, night blindness, pellagra & pernicious anemia. No such disease has ever been cured through mechanical manipulation of the body. Where cancer is seated isn't relevant to its cure. To the blogger who posted this January 5th, 2011 message: will you share with us the results of your January 27, 2011 surgery. I pray it's been a good year for you.

My daughter, Leisa, was dx on November 7th and she passed away on December 31,
2011. An early diagnosis might have prevented this....yet her doctor called her pain "stress," and a rheumatologist to which he referred her called it "fibromyalgia."
Have you or someone you loved experienced late dx or mis-diagnosis?

are very common complaints and can occur with other diseases or without a
particular disease. For example, cough is extremely common and is a
symptom of lung cancer but also may signify asthma, seasonal allergies,

How can so many ppl die of lung cancer who didn't smoke - and then
ppl who do smoke, often get a free pass and don't get it? Talk about
unfair! And don't tell me that you WILL die of LC if you smoke. Though we all agree Lung Cancer from smoking is the single most preventable cause of death, statistically, the "majority" @ELIZA :)

I recently got back results that I was positive for a genetic mutation related to lung cancer after being diagnosed and operated on for Stage I adenocarcinoma of the lung. This whole thing has been quite a surprise to me - 2 brand new primary cancers, lung and thyroid, diagnosed in the past two years. There is no cancer in both sides of my family going back three generations.

My surgeon tells me they now have a pill that is quite effective, should my lung cancer ever come back. I am feeling giddy with hope on the one hand and terrified another shoe will drop on the other.

Dr. Weitz, a raised glass to more long-playing records, to more trips - local and otherwise, and to buying clothes that we'll actually wear out!

It is now almost November, lung cancer awareness month. I just discovered your post and it is now 2011! I lost my mother to lung cancer in 2000 and I lost hope. I never knew why my mother loved yellow daffodils, I just knew they were here favorite flower. For her memorial I bought all the yellow daffodils I could find and gave them to every friend and family member to place where she laid to rest. I found hope 4 years later because you see, I was diagnosed with lung cancer too. I wanted to believe it wasn't my time. I found out about the yellow daffodil again.
